      Final Rites were held here Friday afternoon for Mrs. Mamie Broer Rose, 82, of Yoakum who died in the Huth Memorial Hospital there Wednesday, May 7.
      Following servicess conducted at the Buffington chapel at 2 jp.m. by the Rev. Geo. william, the funeral cortege arrived at the City cemetery here shortly after 3 p.m. where the remains were commited to their last resting place in the family lot with burial rites by the officiating minister.
      Pallbearers were Alfred Taylor, John Myllius, Fred Wolsdrof, Joe Jarmon, Claude Woodrome and c.R. Yeiser of Yoakum.
      Survivors include a son, Frank Rose of Yoakum, a brother, Fred Broer of San Benito, besides nieces and nephews, other relatives. Her husband and a baby daughter preceded her in death years ago.
      Mamie Broer Rose was the only daugher of Martin Broer and Arama Lipps Broer doth descendants of pioneer family of Gonzales and the Hochheim area. Born and reared in Gonzales, Mrs. Rose grew to womanhood here at the family home located on N. College St. just across from the City Cemetery. There her father conducted an apiary for years. one of the early specialits of this section in bee culture, he was a contributor to magazines in the east specializing in that industry. At the time of his death many years ago, announcement with the tribute on his contributions to the industry appeared in these publications.
      For years after her marriage, Mrs. Rose continued to live on the same property occuping a new home built by the family on N. College St. just across from the entrance to the historic City cementery. It is now the residence of Mrs. Charlie Graves. Moving to Yoakum some years ago, Mrs. Rose, however spent most of her life as a resident of Gonzales. Her parents, pioneer members of the local christian church once numbering a considerable congregation owning the church edifice now the Latin American Presbyterian Church.
      Mrs. Rose was a niece of Mrs. W.W. Patterson of this city and the late Mrs. Bill Johnston, widow of former Sheriff Johnston here. She was a cousin of E.L. Johnston, Mrs. Carroll Smith and Miss Annie Reese. Other relatives most of whom are descendants of the same pioneer families of this area, reside in San Antonio, the Rio Grand Valley, East Texas, Rising Star and Lubbock.

      Burial was at City of Gonzales Cemetery, Gonzales, Texas.
